Our Story

Kaya Rebel was born from a passion to reimagine Singapore's beloved coconut jam for the modern palate. Established in 2025 as Singapore celebrates its 60th birthday, we honour culinary heritage while embracing innovation.

Our artisanal, handcrafted kayas feature signature flavours that transform a breakfast staple into an all-day culinary adventure. Each jar celebrates the rich tapestry of Singaporean food culture while introducing global influences that elevate this iconic spread.

At Kaya Rebel, we believe tradition deserves reverence, but also reinvention. Our kayas—whether the fragrant Pandan, aromatic Earl Grey, or rich Okinawa Brown Sugar—are crafted with premium ingredients and meticulous attention to detail.

We're not just making kaya; we're starting a delicious rebellion that invites you to rediscover familiar flavours in unexpected ways. From toast to desserts and beyond, we're expanding the possibilities of what kaya can be.

Join our culinary revolution and experience kaya reimagined.

In the Kitchen

CHEF NICHOLAS KOH

MasterChef Singapore Season 1 Finalist

Nicholas began his culinary journey in his family's restaurant kitchen. Leaving the corporate world in 2018 to pursue cooking professionally, he gained national recognition on MasterChef for his skill and creativity. His fusion of traditional flavours with cross-cultural elements led to innovative variations, particularly at the Singapore Food Festival in 2022, where he first infused traditional coconut jam with Japanese ingredients. Nicholas approaches each recipe with precision and creativity, always respecting the cultural significance of the dishes he reimagines.

CHEF LEON LIM

MasterChef Singapore Season 2 1st Runner-up

Leon brings a unique perspective as a culinary enthusiast and former educator. Before his MasterChef success, he worked as a Chinese Language Tutor and MOE school teacher, later leading baking groups at community centres. His methodical approach to flavour has led him to creating new food concepts. Since 2021, Leon has judged cooking competitions, appeared on TV programs, conducted culinary demos, and co-authored the cookbook "Local Labels, Global Flavours" in 2023. He aims to connect diners to Singapore's culinary heritage innovatively.
